“To me, making the everyday beautiful is as much an approach to design, as it is a way of life.”
The meaning of “make the everyday beautiful” is an homage to my dad, John, who passed in 2020 to cancer. My dad was full of life, enjoyed the simple pleasures, and was one of my biggest supporters. When I look back on the time I spent with my dad, it’s the simple everyday moments we shared at home that stand out the most- playing board games in the dining room, creating sawdust in the garage, watching Survivor in the living room just to name a few.
In the time since, I have reflected a lot about life, design, and home. To me, making the everyday beautiful is as much an approach to design, as it is a way of life. It’s a choice to seek beauty and goodness in the world around us, to look to at daily life with appreciation and gratitude, and to find ways meaningful ways to foster connection. While life has it’s challenges, we believe it's important to hold tight to the beauty found in the small moments.
It is with connection, intentionality, and family in mind that we reintroduce W Haus of Design.
