Senior Interior Designer

PART-TIME (20-30 HRS/WK)

PAY $30-$40/HR

W Haus of Design is seeking a creative Senior Interior Designer to join our growing team. We are a high-end Residential Interior Design firm focused on new builds and large-scale construction and furnishings projects throughout Michigan. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills and is confident in all aspects of interior design, project management, and has a deep understanding of construction.

About the Position:

Working closely with the Principal Designer, the Senior Interior Designer will design and manage multiple projects to create full-scope design schemes including ideation, space plans, budgets, fixture and finish selection, and sourcing furnishings. The Senior Designer will also work in collaboration with the Project Manager to manage schedules, trades, and keep projects on track.

The ideal candidate should be highly proficient in AutoCAD, the creation of millwork drawings, and design documentation. This position is best suited for individuals who are confident in large-scale project management, have experience on construction job sites, and liaise with trades and GCs.

The ideal candidate possesses the following:

  • 4-year bachelors degree in Interior Design or Architecture

  • 5+ years of experience in residential interior design and construction projects. Familiarity with high-end residential industry vendors is a strong plus.

  • A strong knowledge of day-to-day interior design processes, construction processes, and experience on active construction sites.

  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and developing construction documentation. Proficiency in Sketchup and Canva a plus.

  • Develop design concepts, mood boards, and space plans that align with the client’s vision and W Haus of Design’s aesthetic.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to effectively present information to internal team members, clients, and vendors.

  • Highly organized with a strong background in project management; managing project schedules and developing budgets.

  • Strong analytical skills, and attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and prioritize multiple projects under pressure.

  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems with creative solutions.

  • Is excited about working in a growing business, driving results, and making an impact.
